The Masters of Percussion featuring Zakir Hussain

Zakir Hussain is considered-both in the field of percussion and the
music world at large-to be an international phenomenon. Under his
direction, the Masters of Percussion offer audiences a unique
opportunity to experience the many aspects of northern India*s
artistic heritage-from its melodic (raga) and rhythmic (tala) percussive
development to the dazzling, athletic *dancing drummers* of Manipur.
This tour includes the great sarangi maestro, Ustad Sultan Khan-whose
collaborations with Hussain have delighted both classical and world
music aficionados-and features excursions into the blending of the
traditional and contemporary, folk and classical.
