Atlanta, GA, July 31, 2006: In the wake of renewed conflicts in
the Middle
East, Asia, and Africa, the Atlanta Chapter of the Art of Living
Foundation
(AOLF) has organized an inter-faith prayer and meditation
session for peace at
4pm on August 5, 2006 at the Georgia Tech Student Center
Theater.
The Foundation is calling leaders and members of Atlanta's
inter-faith
community to join in this peace effort in the belief that
fostering peace at
the level of the individual is the first step to bringing peace
to the world at
large.
Similar sessions are being organized in other U.S. cities,
including Los
Angeles, New York, Baltimore, College Station (TX), and Austin,
with more
cities joining daily. Everyone is welcome at these events.
"Now is the time for the world to come together to make the
message of non-
violence louder than that of violence. These events will bring
together people
of all religions, faiths and cultures for a common cause while
demonstrating
peace and harmony among diversity is possible." said Michael
Fishman, President
of the Art of Living Foundation USA.
AOLF was founded by renowned spiritual leader and humanitarian,
His Holiness
Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. His worldwide programs place an emphasis
on education
that fosters human values and have reached 300 million people
spanning over 140
countries. Both AOLF and IAHV work in special consultative
status with the
Economic and Social Council of the United Nations.
