BAGA Celebrates Saraswati Puja

The Bengali Association of Greater Atlanta (BAGA) celebrated Saraswati Pujo on Feb 9th, 2019 at Shiloh High School.

Saraswati, the Goddess of Learning, was auspiciously invoked by our priest and offered puja. The puja was followed by anjali, offering prayer to the goddess by all devotees to the chants of Sanskrit slokas by the priest. After anjali, prasad, as well as lunch, was distributed. Soon after, the cultural festivities began to take place.

For the children, an art competition was held and young members of BAGA hosted a program with Bengali dance and song and ended the night with the play Jhala Pala. All the performers and the MCs were children and they did an amazing job.

BAGA is a non-profit organization that strives to promote and sustain the rich culture of our Bengali heritage in American society and has been for the past 38 years, through charitable, educational, and literary activities in the South-Eastern United States.
