The Entertainment Marathon 2010 was already on as I woke up on
the morning of January 1st of year 2010 ( 2:00 O’clock afternoon
due to last night hangover to be honest ). On the dining table;
Desi, non-Desi magazines, news papers, flyers, hand bills
carrying ads on shows, events were ready to cheat on my
forthcoming weekends again. Well, with the help of hot tea on my
side I sorted out Free only entries first then with tickets
starting Ten dollars and later with familiar sponsors names who
would vouch for me. Interestingly I ended up with a reasonable
number of events full of entertainment week after week for the
whole family. In addition to these stage programs; 26th January
celebrations at different locations and festivals such as Maha
Shivratri, Holi and Navratri also came and passed. Now what…?
Again looking for events? Yes. We in Atlanta are really lucky on account of entertainment as countless organizations keep projecting their professional potential in this field. One of the performing Group “ Dhoop Chhaon Hindi Natya Sangh” has proven its identity to be one of the best stage entertainer past five years. The group has performed three hours shows showcasing dramas, comedies, singing, dances based on literary and folk themes. The audience has enjoyed the friendly ambience created by the artists with multi levels of skills in the area of entertainment. In the year 2006, the “Dhoop Chhaon” Group performed first time in Atlanta for Senior Citizen Program. The performance was highly appreciated by all present. The producer Ms. Sandhya Bhagat assured the audience to bring full three hours similar shows every year but with variety. Keeping the promise in year 2007 and then following in 2008, 2009 the Group held shows in White Hall of Emory University Atlanta. The shows were very successful and the crowd was over expectations. Seeing is believing, the Group presented almost seventy artists in one show of three hours in year 2009 and between the age group 3 to 68. Each artist offered free service in the name of art and culture and is still in the Entertainment Marathon to perform next and then next. The stage is set for year 2010 once again. Date: May 1st, 2010. Time: 4:00 – 7:00 PM. Venue: White Hall, Emory University. Atlanta. You are all welcome with family and friends.
