MESSAGE FOR AIM FOR SEVA USA β ATLANTA
Hi everyone,
I'm reaching out to ask you to consider donating to and attending, the AIM for
Seva event in Atlanta on November 18th. This is an incredibly worthy cause, with
92% of all donations going directly to the students for whom they are meant.
I would really appreciate it if you could forward this to your networks as
well.... every donation makes a difference!
The Challenge:
Every child deserves quality education, food, shelter, love and affection, but
not everyone is so fortunate. There are 17.7 million children in India who are
out of school according to the latest UNESCO study. With a family income of less
than Rs. 20,000 per year, under nourishment and vulnerability to abuse, itβs a
battle for survival for young boys and girls.
The Solution:
AIM for Seva provides a home to these children β sons and daughters of a coolie,
farm laborer, construction workers, domestic help β through our Free Student
Hostels. Located near a local school, the hostel provides all that a
school-going child needs and more: A place to stay, uniforms, extra tuitions,
health care, educational materials and above all, an enabling environment for a
student to flourish.
The Impact:
AIM for Seva manages nearly a hundred hostels spread across 16 states of India.
Currently we serve 3,424 boys and girls. Overall 14,000 children have benefitted
from our FSHs since 2000.
The Atlanta Chapter has a goal of sponsoring 100 children in 3 hostels that
Georgia has adopted - and we are asking for your support!
The Event: An AIM for Seva Gala Event - Dinner and a Comedy Show featuring Rajiv
Satyal - a Los Angeles-based comedian/host whose TV-clean act has made him one
of the most versatile comedians working today.
Where: Ashiana Banquet Hall (Global Mall), Norcross, GA
When: Friday, Nov 18th, 2016 @ 7:00 PM
Who: All are welcome!
