FutureTech contributes $10,000 to Vibha

FutureTech Consultants becomes the Title Sponsor of the 10th Annual Vibha Cricket tournament with a contribution of $10,000. The volunteers of Vibha express their sincere appreciation to Mr.

Sravan Vellanki for sharing the excitement of organizing this tournament and for his moral, logistical and financial support in making it a huge success over several years.

Confirming the sponsorship, Mr. Sravan Vellanki said “We at FutureTech are proud to continue our sponsorship of such a worthwhile organization as Vibha through the 10th Annual Vibha Cricket Tournament. Vibha makes such an enormous impact in the lives of children who need our help, and I am confident that this tournament will assist in generating the funds and awareness that are so vital to that mission.”

Started in 1999, Vibha Cricket has grown by leaps and bounds and has become the most prestigious tournament in the South-Asian sports calendar. The tournament started with 16 teams and slowly the number of teams increased to 24, 36 and for the past few years, close to 50 teams take part in this tournament. Some of the teams come from other cities – Chattanooga (TN), Birmingham (AL), Columbus (GA), and one team even from Orlando, FL.

FutureTech Consultants have been the Title Sponsor for the past 5 years and have played an important role in the growth of the tournament, by providing logistical support in addition to the financial commitment. Reacting to the excitement and enthusiasm of the volunteers, they have increased the sponsorship to $10,000 for this year’s tournament. The success of this tournament in Atlanta has become an inspiring example for other action centers of Vibha and similar tournaments were started in Austin, Dallas and Milwakee and new tournaments are planned this year in LA and Sacremento.

The target is to raise $50,000 from the two cricket tournaments to support two big projects – Bhagavatula Charitable Trust (Andhra Pradesh) and Vidyarambham (Tamilnadu) – each with an approximate annual support of $25000 from Vibha. Srinivas Vemulapalli, the coordinator of Vibha Cricket said “We have made a very good beginning, thanks to Future Tech. I now request all the other sponsors, teams and players also to step up to the challenge. We will be facilitating the process for ‘personal pledge pages’ and urge the teams and players to set their own personal targets to raise funds for these most deserving projects in India”.

Vibha is a non-profit organization that seeks to restore to underprivileged children their basic right to food, shelter, health and education- in short, a future. Vibha volunteers in the US seek to raise awareness in the community on children’s issues and to generate funds for child development projects in US and India.
