Successful & Informative Seminar on Financial Planning &
Taxes by TAMA

A seminar on financial planning and taxes was organized by Telugu Association of
Metro Atlanta (TAMA) on March 2nd at DeSana Middle School in Alpharetta. There
were about 200 attendees who were able to take advantage of this informative
seminar followed by a Question & Answer session. The seminar was presented by
Mr. Hariprasad Salian from My Tax Filer. Board of Director Viju Chiluveru kicked
off the session with a welcome note and explaining all the TAMA activities to
the audience. Viju introduced the Executive Committee members led by President
Venky Gadde and Board of Directors led by Chairman Vinay Maddineni to the
attendees along with the presenter Hariprasad.

Hariprasad started the presentation explaining the new tax law changes
introduced by US president Donald Trump last year, especially standard versus
itemized deductions. Later he explained international tax compliance, how to
bring funds legally from India, tax cuts, impact of the jobs act, crypto
currency reporting and finally due diligence required from tax payers.
Hariprasad has explained the implications and the benefits very clearly in
common man’s language. A lot of questions with complex scenarios were answered
concluding session.

The seminar was well received and appreciated by the audience especially for
organizing it when tax filing season is around the corner. On this occasion,
Chairman Vinay Maddineni explained how these seminars have been helping the
community understand the intricate details of filing taxes and benefit from the
savings. He also said that TAMA has been presenting several events catering to
all ages and walks of life - sports, seminars, women's programs, cultural and
literary meets etc. President Venky Gadde felicitated Hariprasad of My Tax Filer
with a shawl for presenting a very good and informative seminar within a short
notice. He also thanked all the audience and TV Asia for covering the event.
During the break, snacks and tea were served.
