Bringing Hope through Dance

Nritya Natya Kala Bharti (NNKB) in association with Narayan Seva Sansthan (NNS) dedicated their annual concert of 250 artists to help benefit and bring hope through dance for 236 life transforming orthopedic surgeries for differently-abled young girls ages 1-13. The concert was held on Saturday, May 4th at the Georgia World Congress Center in the Sidney Marcus Auditorium in front of 1,200 guests.

This prestigious dance symphony was an act of encouragement that allowed 250 artist to provide inclusiveness and equality to 236 young girls. They were able to connect to them with their performance by collecting donations for their orthopedic surgeries. These young girls are hopeful for a better future because they now have higher self-esteem and dreams to go further in life.
 

 Every year, during Chaitra Navaratri (April 6th-14th), a 9-day religious Indian festival celebrates feminine energy by providing hundreds of very poor and disabled girls with corrective surgeries. After the surgeries, they are then worshiped as “Devis” goddesses. In honor of Chaitra Navaratri, Narayan Seva Sansthan performed corrective surgeries for these differently-able girls between the ages of 1 to 13 to celebrate feminine energy.

Manoj Barot, Executive Director, Narayan Seva Sansthan, USA, took this opportunity to show a documentary of Narayan Seva Sansthan’s extensive work in the field of rehabilitation for differently-abled. He also showed a video of special thanks from Narayan Seva Sansthan’s Global President, Prashant Agarwal, along with before and after pictures of 301 young girls who were provided corrective surgeries as a result of this collaborative event. This collaborative effort by 250 artist were welcomed and greatly supported by the community and donors like Jagdish and Mahu Sheth, Dr. Paddy
Sharma, Dr. K. Sujatha Reddy, Kalpesh and Seema Patel, Pavin Patel, Raj Patel, Ahmad Rasheed, Pravina Patel, Jigar Patel and Emory Druid Hills’ Rotary Club.

Chief guest, Robert Prater, ex-Mayor of Warm Springs, GA and polio server was thrilled to let the audience know about his recent visit to Narayan Seva Sansthans Headquarters in Udaipur, India. He spoke about the level of great services provided for the differently-able for their physical rehabilitation and socially economic rehabilitation. Mr. Prater also announced the start of service projects for differently abled being served at Narayan Seva Sansthan mainly by fabrications of hundreds of orthopedic (artificial limbs) on a daily basis.

Also, chief guest, Consul Shailesh Lakhtakia commended the joint venture between Nritya Natya Kala Bharti and Narayan Seva Sansthan. He was specially happy to see children who were born and raised here dedicatedly learning Indian Classical dance (Kathak). He congratulated Nritya Natya Kala Bharti’s director, Kumud Savla and family on a job well done.
