Versatile Actor Shishir Sharma Conducts Transformative Acting Workshop in Atlanta

Atlanta, GA – September 29–30, 2025 – The Dhoop Chaoon Hindi Theater Group (DCHTG), led by its convenor Sandhya Bhagat, had the honor of welcoming renowned Indian actor Shishir Sharma for a transformative two-day acting workshop.
Mr. Sharma was in Atlanta for the premiere of his film Rasa at the Atlanta Indian Film Festival and graciously extended his time to engage with local theater enthusiasts. Widely recognized for his memorable performances across film, television, and digital platforms, Sharma shared invaluable insights drawn from decades of experience.

From the very beginning of the workshop, Mr. Sharma’s presence was both calming and commanding. Despite an illustrious career and an impressive body of work, he remained grounded, approachable, and deeply engaged with every participant. His passion for acting and storytelling was evident in every interaction.
“Acting is not about pretending; it’s about being truthful in imagined circumstances,” Sharma emphasized — a message that resonated strongly with all attendees and set the tone for the workshop.
Over the course of two days, participants explored essential elements of acting, including voice modulation, movement, emotional truth, and scene development. Sharma offered individual feedback with precision and care, identifying even the subtlest details in performance and guiding participants toward greater authenticity and expression.

A highlight of the workshop was Mr. Sharma’s spellbinding recitation of Bhawani Prasad Mishra’s Sannata, a moment that left the entire room in awe and reaffirmed the audience's deep trust in his command of the craft.

The workshop brought together a dynamic ensemble of performers:
Shahid Ali, Nidhi Pipal, Rita Kapahi, Renu Kumar, Aslam Pervez, Shalina Ali, Swati Sridhar, Poornima Raj, Sneha Talika, Noorulain Khan, Manish Dubey, Vijay Gaur an upcoming actor/director, Mamta Parikh, Ashwita Shah, Natasha Naqvi, and Sachin Bapat, each contributing unique energy and perspective to the collaborative experience.

Supporting the seamless execution of the event was a dedicated backstage team comprising Anil Bhagat, Talat Alvi, Kartikay Bhagat, and Gandharv Bhagat, ensuring smooth logistics and behind-the-scenes coordination. The workshop was visually documented by Puneet Bhatnagar, whose camera work captured the spirit and emotion of the event.

A heartfelt highlight following the workshop was the presentation of a plaque of appreciation to Mr. Sharma, offered collectively by the participants in recognition of his inspiring presence and generous engagement throughout the two-day experience.
