TAMA Mahila Sadassu honors women of distinction

In commemoration of 2010 International Women’s Day, TAMA organized a Mahila Sadassu at Global Mall, Atlanta, GA on March 6th to honor a few distinguished women of Atlanta that have not only excelled in their respective fields but also rendered commendable service to the community at large.
The event was ably anchored by TAMA’s Literary Coordinator Sandhya Yellapragada and Education Coordinator Sunil Katepalli and both of them regaled the audience with their keen sense of humor.

Ms Sudha Krishna Vogeti, honored for her contribution in the field of music, flagged off the event with an invocation of Goddess Saraswati.

To put it succinctly, the notable highlights of the evening were - Sandhya’s inspirational welcome note, TAMA President Madhu Tata’s elucidatory address emphasizing the importance of teaching Telugu to the kids and youth by their parents, speeches by the guests of honor Dr Paddy Sharma on financial freedom for women in times of economic crisis and Dr Syamala Erramilli on preventive health care

While TAMA veteran Mr Jagan Mohan Rao honored Dr Sharma and Dr Erramilli, other distinguished guests of honor - Ms. Padma Rallapalli, Ms. Sasikala Penumarti, Dr. Asha Vellanki, Ms. Padmaja Kelam, Ms. Shanti Veluri, Ms. Kalpana Raju, Ms. Revati Komanduri, Ms. Jyothi Kondamuri, Ms. Anjali Artham, and TAMA’s past lady presidents Dr. Mano Naidu, Ms. Seetha Vallurupalli and Ms. Sridevi Dadithota - were honored by the wives of TAMA Executive Committee members.

Ms Majusha Mamidipaka and Ms Sudha Krishna Vogeti kept the audience delighted with their singing of classical and film songs. Homoeopathy Dr. Madhavi Kasam provided some helpful first aid tips to women.

TAMA secretary Venkat Veeraneni informed those present about upcoming Ugaadi Utsavaalu. The TAMA Media Coordinator Suresh Peddi proposed vote of thanks expressing TAMA’s gratitude to the guests of honor, audience, volunteers Meghana Nallajerla, Pavani Seelam, Rama Pawar, Archana Arutla, sound system expert Devanand Konduru, photographer Sridhar Vakiti, videographer Shashidhar Uppala and Sri Krishna Vilas Indian Cuisine for providing snacks.
