The Founder Acharya of the Gaudiya Vaishnava Association (GVA), His Divine Grace Swami B.S. Tirtha Maharaj was in North America to deliver spiritual discourses during his USA Transcendental tour of Summer 2011. Between June 23 and August 3 Srila Maharaj travelled to New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Washington DC, Maryland, Texas and Georgia and gave discourses from Srimad Bhagavatam, Srimad Bhagavad-Gita, Teachings of Lord Chaitanya and Mukunda Mala Stotra. Srila Maharaj presented Bhagavad Katha for ten days in Washington DC. Srila Maharaj visited the Rupa Raghunath Gaudiya Math temple in Lanham and spoke about how Lord Sri Krishna creates, maintains and annihilates this Universe through the agency of the three Vishnus (Karanodakasayi Vishnu, Garbhodakasayi Vishnu and Kshirodakasayi Vishnu) called 'Shristi lila'. The following verse from the vedic literature was explained in detail by Srila Maharaj.

"For material creation, Lord Krsna's plenary expansion assumes three Vishnus. The first one, Maha-Vishnu, creates the total material energy, known as mahat-tattva. The second, Garbhodakasayi Vishnu, enters into all the universes to create diversities in each of them. The third, Ksirodakasayi Vishnu, is diffused as the all-pervading Supersoul in all the universes and is known as Paramatma, who is present even within the atoms. Anyone who knows these three Vishnus can be liberated from material entanglement."

At The Hindu Temple of Metropolitan Washington in Adelphi, Srila Maharaj gave lectures from Srimad Bhagavatam. In Atlanta, Srila Maharaj explained the Mukunda Mala Stotra written by a saintly King Sri Kulasekhara Alwar more than a millennium ago in India and how the teachings are applicable even today in this modern world. Many attended the discourses and received the rarest oppurtunity of associating with a pure devotee of Lord Sri Krishna. Srila Maharaj left for London to continue his preaching activities. Srila Maharaj, at the age of 69, travels extensively throughout the world tirelessly with the sole purpose of spreading Krishna consciousness among the people of today's chaotic society.
