Atlanta Vedic Temple Organizes Health fair for the community

On April 28, The Atlanta Vedic Temple held a free Health Fair, which could also be called a Benevolence Day, where the doctors and nurses poured their benevolent services from their heart for the wellbeing of patients, without desiring for anything in return.

They covered a wide range of medical necessities for the community such as Dental, Internal Medicine, Cardiology, ENT (ear, nose and Throat), Obstetrics & Gynecology, Alternative Medicine (Yoga, Ayurveda & Naturopathic consultation), Pediatrics, Mental health, Dieticians. There were nurses to take EKG, draw blood and other physical check-ups.
 

It was a day of unique experience for the patients. They didn’t need a big wallet or an appointment. After signing a non-liability form, they were free to move around under guidance form one specialty to another and spend as much time as needed, with each one of them. There were ample numbers of service providers (doctors and nurses) for every specialty. All services and consultations were free except for heavily subsidized (by American Clinical Laboratory) low charges of $25 for detailed blood test and $10.00 for special diabetes test (HbA1C).

After the service, there was ample supply of free healthy food (courtesy of Kroger and volunteers) consisting of fruits, juices, crackers and even hot coffee, tea, Indian Upmaa etc.

Near the end, there were lots of thanks flowing around for each other, but only after first prayerfully thanking the All-kind and All-truth God for stimulating Wisdom of Yajnya (selfless services) in the minds of camp organizers and service providers (doctors and nurses).
